Role: Technical Manager – SaaS Data Protection (Overview)

As a Technical Manager for SaaS Data Protection you will design and lead modules that power IDrive’s SaaS backup connectors
(Office 365, Google Workspace, Salesforce, Zoho, Dropbox, Box, etc.). You’ll be responsible for architecture, reliability,
and leading a backend engineering pod to deliver scalable, production-grade backup & restore systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Own full-stack architecture for SaaS data protection connectors and the unified protection framework.
• Define scalable patterns for incremental sync, delta detection, and versioned restore across heterogeneous SaaS APIs.
• Lead a pod of backend engineers: hire/mentor, run 1:1s, plan sprints, and drive delivery.
• Champion reliability (SLOs, distributed tracing, chaos testing) and target high uptime (e.g., 99.99%).
• Design and evolve data & messaging systems (MongoDB schema, RabbitMQ/Kafka orchestration, retry logic).
• Govern integrations with Microsoft Graph, Google Admin SDK, Salesforce APIs and manage OAuth, webhooks and rate-limits.
• Own AWS S3 backend concerns: multipart uploads, lifecycle, server-side encryption, immutability policies.

Must-have (Qualifications & Skills)

• 7+ years in backend engineering; 2+ years leading or mentoring teams.
• Strong mastery in Node.js (event loop, streams, worker threads) OR .NET Core (DI, gRPC, middleware).
• Proven experience building event-driven, scalable systems (RabbitMQ, Kafka, SNS/SQS).
• Deep expertise with MongoDB (sharding, change streams, aggregation) at scale.
• Hands-on with Linux, CI/CD (GitHub Actions/Jenkins), infra scripting and cloud operations.
• Solid distributed-systems fundamentals: concurrency, idempotency, eventual consistency.

Nice-to-have

• Experience building SaaS data protection for Office 365 / Google Workspace / Salesforce / Dropbox / Box.
• Experience with OAuth 2.0 flows, webhook verification, API pagination strategies.
• Go language experience and open-source contributions to backup/sync tooling.
